eMAG API Usage Policy

1. Purpose of the Document

This eMAG API Usage Policy describes how S.C. MASAT DIGITAL S.R.L. (“the Company,” “We,” or “MASAT”) integrates, uses, and protects data obtained from the official eMAG Marketplace API within the MASAT — Marketplace Seller Assistant platform, available at https://app.masat.ro.

The purpose of this policy is to ensure full transparency regarding how data retrieved via the API is managed, in compliance with the eMAG API Terms and Conditions, GDPR legislation, and applicable security standards.

2. Description of the eMAG API Integration

MASAT uses the official API provided by Dante International S.A. (eMAG) to allow users to connect their eMAG seller account to the platform.
Connection is made manually by entering the API keys generated in the eMAG Marketplace account, which are solely owned by the user.

The API is used exclusively to retrieve and display relevant commercial data within the user’s MASAT account, without altering any information in the original eMAG account.
The platform operates in “read-only” mode with respect to the eMAG API.

3. Types of Data Processed via the API

By connecting an eMAG account, MASAT may access and process the following categories of data, strictly for analysis and reporting purposes:

• Product data (name, SKU, price, stock, category);
  
  
• Order and sales data (order count, value, delivery status);
  
  
• Performance indicators (margin, commissions, costs);
  
  
• Aggregated data used to calculate estimated sales and market analysis.
  
  

This data is not shared, sold, or transferred to third parties and is used solely to display information in the user’s account.

4. Usage Rules and Restrictions

MASAT fully complies with the eMAG API Terms and Conditions. Accordingly:

• Access to the API is made only with the explicit consent of the user;
  
  
• API keys are encrypted and securely stored on servers located within the European Union;
  
  
• MASAT does not allow any other users to access a connected account’s data;
  
  
• The use of the API for extracting or redistributing data outside the MASAT platform is strictly prohibited;
  
  
• The Company does not modify, update, or transmit any data back to eMAG through the API.
  
  

5. Data Protection and Encryption

Data retrieved from the eMAG API is encrypted both in transit and at rest, using secure protocols (HTTPS, AES-256).
API keys are visible only to the user who entered them.
Collected data is processed solely for displaying and internally analyzing product and sales performance.

6. User Rights Regarding API Connection

The user has full control over the connection between their eMAG account and the MASAT platform.
You may disconnect your eMAG account at any time from the “Integrations” section of the app.
After disconnection, the associated data will be automatically deleted within 30 calendar days.
The user may also request immediate deletion of this data by emailing office@masat.ro.

7. Compliance with eMAG API Terms

MASAT Digital S.R.L. confirms that the development and operation of the MASAT platform comply with all technical, legal, and security requirements imposed by the eMAG Marketplace API Terms and Conditions.
The Company claims no affiliation, sponsorship, or official partnership with Dante International S.A. (eMAG) but follows the necessary procedures to be included in the eMAG SPN (Service Providers Network) program.
